KEEP ’EM SAFE – CHILD CAR SEAT PROGRAM

The Keep ’Em Safe (KES) Car Seat Program helps families across San Diego County keep their children safe on the road. We provide no-cost car seats, hands-on education, and support from certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians.
Our goal is simple:
Every child rides safely. Every family feels confident.

The program is available to families who meet the following criteria:
- Low-Income or First-Time Families: Families qualify based on household income or if this is their first time receiving a car seat from PSC. If your household has already received a car seat from KES, you are not eligible for another.
- Expectant Parents: Pregnant parents may apply starting at 32 weeks. We schedule delivery and installation a few weeks before your due date so you’re fully prepared when your baby arrives.
- Court-Ordered Participation: If you received a citation requiring a car seat class, please email: maricela@psc411.com, noting that your attendance is court-ordered.

Please allow up to 3 business days for review. A team member will contact you with next steps.
If approved, you will receive:
- A confirmation text
- Instructions to complete our online Child Passenger Safety Training
- A link to schedule your appointment (after training is complete)

Important Scheduling Notice
Due to high demand and limited funding, appointments may take 4–6 weeks to schedule after you complete the online training.

About the Keep ’Em Safe Program
For 17 years, the Pacific Safety Center has proudly delivered the Keep ’Em Safe Car Seat Program with support from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and valued community partners.
Each year, we provide:
- 900+ No-Cost Car Seats
Distributed to low-income, first-time, refugee, Native American, military, and underserved households. - Child Passenger Safety Education
Hybrid classes offered in English and Spanish, including materials in Arabic. - 60+ Car Seat Check-Up & Distribution Events
Hands-on learning with certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians. - Professional Training for Service Providers
Eight (8) 4-hour training courses for:- Social Workers
- Public Health Nurses
- Community Outreach Workers
- Public Safety Personnel

What You Need to Register
Please have the following documents ready:
- Photo ID
Driver’s license, passport, military ID, or other valid identification. - Proof of Income
Recent pay stubs, EBT card, WIC folder, or documentation for any government assistance. - Proof of Relationship (per child)
Birth certificate, tax return, case file, or other legal documentation.

PLEASE NOTE:
We appreciate your patience. Due to funding constraints and high program demand, please allow 4–6 weeks from the date you complete the online Child Passenger Training before your appointment can be scheduled.
